I have returned from a three day hiking/car trip with the hubby and kidlets. All are alive and well and not even maimed. It was actually a lot of fun and there weren't any real meltdowns even with 80+ degree weather. Slightly sunburnt on my shoulders, but escaped relatively unscathed. There is, however, no food in my house, which makes eating difficult. Today, instead of a day of rest, will be a day of returning the rental car, going to the grocery store and going to the in-laws house to do laundry, as our washing machine is still broken.
And tomorrow? Probably a hike.
And here's the thing I understand least - I spent hardly any time eating (and when I did eat, I tried to eat decent given the fact that it was fast food/Denny's type food) and 90% of the thing hiking and I gained 10 pounds. *hates* I'm assuming it's water weight from being that time of the month and stuff (though I'd have thought I sweated it all off), but it still pisses me off. And if anyone tells me it's all muscle, I might scream, as I don't think my calves can take being any more muscle than they already are.
*flails*
